How to Play Chrome Dino

You do not have to wait for your Wi-Fi to fail. Here are all the ways to start the Chrome Dinosaur Game, on a computer or a phone, with or without the internet.

Four ways to start the game

Play online on dinosaur.game
The quickest way: open the game page and press Space. It works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and other browsers.

Type chrome://dino
In Google Chrome on a computer or an Android phone, type chrome://dino in the address bar and press Enter. The game opens even when you are online.

Go offline
Turn off Wi-Fi or mobile data and open any website in Chrome. You will see the «No internet» page with the dinosaur. Press Space or tap the dinosaur.

Open the error page
Type chrome://network-error/-106 in Chrome. It shows the offline page with the dinosaur without disconnecting you.

Because there is no duck on touch screens, pterodactyls on phones only fly low or high, never at head height.

On Android, iPhone and iPad

In Chrome for Android the game works exactly like on a computer: go offline or type chrome://dino. On an iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app while offline and tap the dinosaur on the «No internet» page.

Safari, the default browser on iPhone, has no built-in dinosaur. The easiest way to play there, or in any other browser, is to open dinosaur.game and tap the screen.

In other browsers

The T-Rex lives only in Chrome and browsers built on Chromium. Microsoft Edge has its own offline game, a surfing game you can open at edge://surf. Firefox and Safari do not have a dinosaur at all, but you can play the same T-Rex game online here.

Why does it not work at school or work?

Administrators of school and office computers can switch the game off with a Chrome policy called AllowDinosaurEasterEgg. On such devices the dinosaur still appears on the offline page, but it will not run. On school Chromebooks the game is often off by default.

If chrome://dino is blocked on your device, the game may still be available on dinosaur.game, unless the website is blocked by your network too.

Can I play the dinosaur game without the internet?

Yes. In Chrome the game is part of the browser, so it works completely offline. Just open any page while disconnected.

Is the Chrome Dino game free?

Yes. It is built into Chrome at no cost, and you can also play it for free on dinosaur.game.

Can I play in full screen?

Press F11 on a computer to make the browser full screen, or zoom the page in with Ctrl and the plus key.

How do I get a higher score?
